What is a Footing in Construction and type or function of footings

Footing:

Footing is a part of structure that transfer that load of building in underlaying soil.

Type of footings: 

 Footing is a type of shallow foundation.

There are many type of footings use in construction list in below.

2 Isolate footings

Spread Footings

Spread footings is a use for columns or load distribute on compacted soil.

Combined footings:

When two or more columns in one footing that is called combined footing . it may be  rectangular or trapezoidal shape.

Combined footing provide for the following conditions.

When the columns are to close each other

When the soil bearing capacity is low 

Then provide combined footings.

 Isolated footings:

This type of footings may be rectangular . circular  slab provide in under columns.

Wall footings: 

Wall  footings is type of shallow footing it is load distribute acrose the load on ground 

That is known wall footings.

Stepped footing :

These type of footing made is bricks masonry . solid blok masonry. Stone masonry.

That type of footing use for  Metal steel columns  and away from direct connect with soil and save from corrosive affects.
